I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

    • We had huge floods down in the suburbs near Detroit. Almost all the freeways were flooded and closed for a couple days. 14 feet of water on the underpasses…amazing.

  2. that is a wonderful photo – we know you picked up the princess so she wouldn’t get her little toes wet and so you could sneak a cuddle 🙂

    • We bought that at LLBean in Maine…after standing in a downpour for hours prior to the fireworks at Bar Harbor. Next morning we and a few hundred of our closest friends bought raincoats. Never rained again the rest of the week!

  8. I see the princess won’t wear a rain slicker either! I try to send Dallas outside between showers, but he doesn’t seem to mind one way or the other. “Eau de Wet Dog” isn’t one of my favorite fragrances, though!

  9. Awww. (Katie always makes me either say or think”Awww.”) Great shot, and I want a rain slicker like that. I don’t have one, so I just get wet.

    • Yes, I know what you mean. I saw that a lot too…like “awwwww…why did you steal my sock.” And “awww….why did you shred that paper towel?” And “awww…why did you jump up on the bed with muddy feet.”

  11. I was thinking about you during these rains. We didn’t get much up here – enough to make my garden happy. Looks like you fared okay? Poor Detroit :-/
