Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

No more

I don’t want to watch any more political debates. I don’t want to hear any more political ads. No more news anchors talking 24/7 about the what-ifs of this race. I want to skip it all and just come back to reality after a Republican and a Democrat candidate are chosen. When there’s something serious to consider. When I know who to focus on.

But for now I don’t want to hear any more of Trump’s bombastic attacks.

No more trickery from Cruz.

No more rote speeches from Rubio

No more confusion from Carson.

No more Mr. Nice Guy from Kasich.

No more awkwardly pained grins from Bush.

No more defensive push back from Clinton.

No more pie in the sky from Sanders.

No more.

But I know the reality is we have months of this, in one form or another. So I think I’ll go for a walk, keep the TV off, not check the news, hibernate a bit.

Let me know when it’s safe to surface.

    I don’t follow any of that crap, besides random things I see posted by friends on facebook, and life is good.

    I have successfully avoided every debate, but have read some of the summaries afterwards. I seem to manage to block most of what is highlighted on the news, but I hear enough to have a concern about the election. I’m not sure there will be a candidate I feel comfortable voting for. Is there no happy medium?

    I do follow the debates in order to be an informed voter, however I totally agree with you that it’s all getting to be a bit much.

    So….fast forward to “reality”. Your choice is either Sanders or Trump. I believe that’s where we’re headed. Communist or Capitalist. 🙂

    It is hard, but sometimes the answer is to turn off the TV, you do have the power to make them stop talking, you had that power all along.

    this is why I only turn on the tv for the weather and the rest of time just watch a documentary on Netflix 🙂

    You and me, too, Dawn. My nerves rankle when I hear everybody yelling at each other, when I know nobody has the perfect solution…and regardless who’s chosen, they’ll have to work together to accomplish anything. You know, Westminster (http://www.westminsterkennelclub.org/) is taking place right now — who wouldn’t rather watch doggies??

    We all feel this way. And now the radio “news” hashes and rehashes, over and over, possible consequences of the empty seat on the Supreme Court. And it’s not as if anyone is going to make either one of us, you or me, the “decider” on any of this. So yes, taking walks in the snow, with a dog — great escape!

      Justice Scalia was no friend of mine…I disagreed with most of what he said. But he was still a Supreme Court justice and deserves the respect of his position. I think we should at least wait until after his funeral to argue about how to fill the vacancy. And the President definitely has the right and the responsibility to nominate someone. The Senate should at least vote.
