And this one…I had to take a second look.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

I liked the light on the feathers. And the colors.

They ARE amazing. I am always in awe when I get the chance to photograph them. Took the dog for a walk up the neighborhood street a couple of hours ago and the family of 3 was in a neighbor’s driveway. They watched us. I watched them. Katie the dog didn’t even notice. Silly girl.

Nice capture of a crane doing something other than standing there. I sometimes take nonrepeatable shots like these and then when I get home realize I’d never even noticed the reflection, so I’ve got only part of it in the photo.

On this shot I remember I was trying to center it so that there was a similar amount of space above the crane and below the reflection. Which worked out pretty close. Yes…I especially liked that the sun was setting and catching the feathers. I love getting images of these birds. They are really too tame now, out at the park anyway, they’re so used to people. Here at home they don’t let me get this close.

Yes, the lighting is gorgeous, with his feathers all ruffled and everything. It is a nice capture.
