I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Is this a heron? Katie didn’t try to herd him, did she?!

Yes this is a Blue Heron. I saw him fly by the window. Katie was sleeping and never saw anything. She didn’t even wake up when I stood up and went to the window to get these shots.

It IS cold here today and very windy. But I think he was more focused on finding supper than the weather.

I’m sure you’re right, Dawn. I’m sure he wasn’t at all deterred by the weather. 🙂

He (or she) was moving quite fast down the beach. Guess it was supper time.

Up where I live in Michigan they are notorious for stealing fish out of decorative ponds. Especially expensive fish.

Yes they are some of my favorite birds. Shy though, and not easy (at least for me) to get images of. This was through a closed window and cropped.

I was lucky to see him land and get to a window before he strutted off.
