Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

Epic fight

Cee has a black and white photo challenge out right now – “Through a window.” I’ve already been doing that a lot, looking through a window, so I figured this would be an easy one.

This is MY jelly!

And just today at the oriole feeder outside my window I captured a prolonged fight among hungry birds. You might even say they were angry birds.

Really? What gives you the right to yell at ME?

But in the end, though I deliberately left part of the window frame in the shot just to use one of them in the black and white challenge…

I’m telling you, all I said was that it was MY jelly!

…I couldn’t bring myself to take the color out.

Guess I’m going to have to find another window.

Angry birds are lonely birds.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  5. You’ve got a front-row seat at the Oriole Restaurant! How lovely, even if they do squabble over dinner!

  6. My Orioles (you like that possessive thing I have going on?) are back and I’ve now seen a hummingbird twice – or maybe it was two hummingbirds at separate times.

  9. Lucky you to have Baltimore Orioles at your feeder. I think in all my years in Ottawa I’ve only ever seen one.
