I guess the time has come to stop thinking about what might be on this list and actually write some things down.
After all, 2019 will march along whether I get organized or not.
And without a list some of this stuff might not have a shot at happening. Not to say I’ll get to do it all, but certainly I’ll forget to even try if it’s not written down.
That’s what happens to me lately, I forget stuff not written down and I doubt that I am alone in that regard, especially among people my age.
So (drum roll please) here’s the list in no particular order:
2019 Interesting, Stupendous and Fun Things
*Visit the Point Betsie lighthouse in the winter to see the ice formations.
*Camping in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (not in winter).
*Try acrylic painting.
*Find someone willing to teach me what it’s like to make a sound on a cello.
*Gain confidence on the new Nikon camera, and figure out what the optimum lens is.
*Improve night photography skills.
*Spend a week in the Southwest.
*Visit husband’s family in Norway.
*Walk the CRIM 10 mile race in August.
*Spend a month or more in Alabama, invite friends to visit while I’m there.
*Look into the purchase of a 2nd kayak for the lake.
*Read 50 books, and try at least one from a genre I don’t usually read.
*Ride my bike on some of the rail-to-trails around here, maybe a one day bike trip complete with lunch along the way, maybe with a local bike group.
*Walk and photograph the Dequindre Cut here in Detroit.
*Meetup with sheltie mom(s) for adventure.
My plan is to check in on this list every month, and add items as they occur to me. No rule says January is the only month to dream, right?
What interesting, stupendous or fun things do you plan on doing in 2019?

great list. Keep me posted on the Nikon news. I have one, too, and I know I am nowhere near using it like I should. Florida is not that far from Alabama……does Katie like cats? 🙂

I don’t believe Katie has ever actually met a cat. She barks at anything in her yard, cats included, but for all I know she thinks they are squirrels! A photo shoot with our Nikons would be fun.

I love your list. Permission to steal a couple things off of it? I loved Norway, ridiculously expensive for everything but worth it. Don’t miss Bygdoy museum peninsula in Oslo. Must see. Day’s worth. I especially like the plan to spend a month in Alabama!!!

Permission to steal any time from the blog. We are planning on Norway this early summer, staying with family so that will help. I’ll check out the Bygdoy museum peninsula. I don’t, at this moment, know where they live, but hopefully we will see some pretty stuff no matter where we go!

Good list.
My list: 1) Regain health (well on my way). 2) Learn Tai Chi. I’m 2/3’s way through learning the short form. 3) Make progress on my book. 4) See more of the beauty of America and take more photos.

What an ambitious list!! I, too, am trying to read 50 books this year, as well as trying to finish the second book I’m writing. And I want to improve on my flute, perhaps reaching that extra-high C many ledger lines up there. And of course, I’d like to spend quality time down in Gulfport, something that would be extra-nice in the dead of winter here.

Looks like a great list- a little bit of everything. I have a friend you has been to Norway a few times- one of them for a quick weekend- she got a ridiculously cheap flight and went! She posted photos of the Aurora Borealis )Northern Lights) quite spectacular!

Haven’t made a list yet but I do have a trip booked to Disney World in February. Does that count?

In what cleff is cello music written? Or are you going to enjoy playing by ear?

I don’t know. I just want to make a noise on one. I don’t anticipate learning to play.

Sounds like a great list – maybe if I started one it would get me off my lazy rear.

For me if it’s printed on a list I might remember that I wanted to try something. We’ll see.

You have quite a list. I made a list one year and then made a note when it was accomplished…nice thing about a blog is that you can edit anytime. I liked seeing the progress I made.

This is a great list, Dawn. You’ve reminded me that I should add some fun into my year. I’ve been immersed in this yoga course and taking things far too seriously (not that there isn’t laughter and joy in yoga… just that we’ve been covering some serious stuff).
I’m going to have a look at my Things to Do on Eastern Shore List and see if I can plan an outing sometime soon. Another storm (with 50 mph winds) is coming this weekend so it’ll have to be after that blows through.

You wouldn’t think you’d have to plan fun, but I’ve found, even in retirement, that I do need to put it on the calendar…otherwise time gets away from me! Be careful in all that wind. We have snow coming tomorrow and very cold on Sunday.
