Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

Smiles can come from the smallest things

Trent coordinates a weekly smile post over at his blog, inviting us all to find at least one thing each week that made us smile, and then share it with all of you.

Nice concept, don’t you think?

I’ve been out walking a lot and this little bit of nature made me smile a whole lot…

A bit of green in early April always makes me smile.

…because it felt like spring.

What made you smile this week? Share with us! Cause it’s going to snow here soon and I’m pretty sure we could all use a smile.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. Macro shots of nature make me smile 🙂

    • Me too. When I was a kid my dad got me a series of lens that screwed onto my camera that were sort of macro. Loved those. I need to purchase a macro lens. My camera does pretty good without one, but it would be fun to get even closer.

      • I once had a “super macro” setup, and it worked well. Now I could probably get a shot like yours here, if that close. I haven’t done much macro shooting since that setup (early, 4 mp digital camera, Olympus E-10)

  2. It is a nice concept. Our weather has got me smiling this week. It’s cool and a bit windy, but we’ve had wonderful blue skies.

  3. My furry girl and the birds, squirrels, chipmunks, jackrabbits, and neighbors’ horses made me smile this week.

  5. Domer said his company had a fire drill yesterday and they went outside to stand in the SLEET!! Yikes, I’m glad all we’ve got from this dumb old storm is a driving wind that nearly knocks you off your feet. Dallas is rather enjoying having his furs blown though!

    • I remember doing that once…it was so cold and nasty out…though I think possibly that time there was a real fire in the kitchen…so it took us longer to get back inside. Not a big fire, no real danger, but a bad afternoon for it for sure! Katie also loves the wind through her fur and she really enjoyed the cold this morning during our walk in a park. She’ll describe it better than me later.

  6. We had snow this week too, I refuse to shovel anymore. Hoping for some dry weather as I sure do have to get out and clean the back yard. What makes me smile this week is that I have only one more week to work before retirement and Game of Thrones Season 8 starts on Sunday.

    • We didn’t get enough to shovel, maybe half an inch. And it was gone by mid morning. I hope that’s the end of it. How much did you get?

Wait!!! You have only ONE MORE WEEK TO WORK BEFORE RETIREMENT!?!?!?!?!?!?! That’s A LOT to make you smile! I remember that week, for me it seemed to last FOREVER! Congratulations to you!!! I’m so happy for you!
