This week I’m in Florida taking care of a pair of sweet dogs so their folks can take a short vacation. The boys and I are getting along great, though I know they miss their mom and dad.
Sometimes they seem a bit confused, but most of the time they’re happy as long as they get fed. Sounds just like a little girl I know.
Being in Florida I wanted to spend at least a little time wandering the beach. This morning I drove over to the Atlantic to see how the beach fared in yesterday’s storm.
There are miles and miles of beaches to walk, and I only explored a small part of one. It was windy and a bit cool, not exactly beach weather. Still plenty of people were out enjoying the sun after a yesterday’s thunder, rain and tornadic winds.
There was color out in the water too, and waves tipped with spray under brilliant blue skies.
The shore birds were bouncing around.
The waves were spreading out over the sand…
It was a good day for a run.
Not that I ran, but it was a good day for one.
And this little guy came out to talk to me on my way back to the car.
All and all it was a morning filled with smiles.

For sure! Even though it was a little chilly with the wind I have tan lines now! LOL!

If exposed skin doesn’t flash freeze, it is beach weather 😉 Or at least in New England…. I’m glad you are enjoying your time.

That is the same rule in Michigan. In Florida I’m not sure, they think it’s freezing if it’s 60.

lol, I know. I have heard “the water is still only 78 degrees, it’s too cold to go swimming…”

I think I’d have to win the lottery before I could ever convince you to come and pet sit my motley crew of 4! But, think of the material for blogging that you would have…

Oh I’d come take care of them, but I’m not scuba diving in the beaver pond.

Oh, I was hoping you were taking care of these two cuties! Their mom hasn’t posted in a while, and I was concerned about them (especially Mr. Reilly!) What a gorgeous day — thanks for sharing it with us. We’re starting to green up here, but I’ve been missing the beach!

Yes, this is Mr. Reilly and Mr. Denny. They are doing OK, though both are having issues with arthritis. I went and red Dallas’ report of the horrible shower curtain and couldn’t find where to leave a comment. I will have to investigate that Liquid Vet as Katie is groaning when she lays down and has a ramp for the front steps (mostly because she doesn’t see well and jumps too soon and hits her tummy on the step.).

I’m so sorry, Dawn. It’s hard watching them struggle. I found Liquid-Vet at our farm and feed store; it’s available at PetSmart, too.

My wife and I just went on our first tiny trailer camping trip this year to a local campground in SE Iowa. We experienced variable weather, for sure–but mostly too much wind. We had fun but came home early to get away from the blowing. Your photos sure seem much more mild–and the dogs seem awful friendly 🙂

I’m getting antsy for camping weather, though I was reading some of the blogs from years past and it seems Katie (the dog) and I often fold up camp a day early due to rain and cold. I seem to have forgotten THOSE memories and only remember the fun stuff. Florida this week has been chilly and a bit windy, and we had one day with horrible storms, but it’s still warmer than Michigan!

I will do that. They are both adorable! We took them to the beach today for a short walk. They can’t go as far as they used to but they were so excited to be out there.
