Well, you know I’ve got to showcase the Princess.

On another note, WordPress just pushed me into using the new Block format. I tried it months ago and hated it and switched back, but yesterday evening, it suddenly changed to the new way. I am going to have to figure it out. But I ‘m not going to be happy about it.

Change is hard.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

    We’ve been having winds like that — how I miss my Dallas! Katie looks regal, as always. Not sure that Word Press can force you to use the new block editor. They’ve been suggesting it to me for a while, but I keep refusing. You’re right — change is hard, and we’ve ALL had more than enough change to last, haven’t we??

      I bet you do miss sweet Dallas. I think about him when we’re out at a park. I look at her and know she’s going to be 14 in a couple months and that I’m incredibly lucky to still have her, and in pretty good health too. I try to do someting fun with her as often as possible. We have to go slower, and shorter than before, but we’re still having adventures and I know I should just cherish the time together.

        Most definitely!! All stages of their short lives are precious. They give so much love and make us laugh with their antics. I still haven’t found a “replacement pup,” but I know one day I will. Somebody’s going to have BIG PAWS to try to fill though!

    Whoops, I was wrong! Now WP is demanding I use their stupid block editor, too — grr! I learned you can return to the Classic Editor if you install a plugin, but that’s going to require you to upgrade to their business plan — which costs $300 a year — yikes!!!

    A beauty in black and white. I just love her little paws–so darn cute!
    After I write my title, I click on the little plus sign, click on Classic, click on Classic again. The toolbar comes up and I am good to go. It was strange at first, but I don’t mind it so much now. Although it did take 3 tries this morning. I was doing something wrong…. Good luck, Dawn.

    Love Katie. Hate the new editor. Impossible to work with, took me twice as long to make a post. There seems to be a way to go back to classic, but everytime I try it doesn’t work. I pay for the hosting and don;t understand how they can just decide to change things up. REALLY annoying.

    I don’t blame you for being annoyed. My Blogger forced me to accept their new format a couple months ago and I still hate it. Some snide millenial decided to cram more into the frame, thereby shrinking things, making me squint to see what had been visible before. Those millenials will be the death of me.

      I hate when I figure something out and then they change it all. Same with running shoes. You find a pair you like and you buy them for years and then some 20-something design tech person decides to change it all up.

    Seems like a lot of bloggers are struggling with the new format. I didn’t like it at first–and now am enjoying it. For some reason it seems simpler. When I do the “continued on the next page” function I go back to Classic view, because the block editor one doesn’t seem appealing. Wishing you good luck during this learning curve–and not too many grumbly days. Seems like the whole world is changing so much every day. And change can be hard. *smile*

      I’m sure I’ll adjust with time and they did give us lots of time to practice. But I’m not happy at the moment. Seems a hard time to make life more difficult…when it already is.

    I like your photo. WP has yet to torment me with the blockhead editor. The timing for this change is soooo wrong.

    I agreed to the WP blockhead change over a year ago. It really messes me up when I want to put photos side by side. Still haven’t figured out how to do that successfully. As well, if I don’t put text between photos that are above/below each other, then it squishes the photos together with almost no space in between. I’ve learned to insert a line between them in the editing software, then I choose that line and type an “a” there, then I click on the three dots and choose “edit as HTML”, then I delete everything in the line and type   there instead, then click on the three dots again and choose “edit visually”. Voila … you now have nice white space between your photos. The earlier, simpler style of editing was so much better. Why mess with success? I guess some people feel a constant need to make things “better”.

    I noticed that several people have complained about WP on this post.
    Have you written to WP? Could you encourage your readers to write in?
    I’m hoping if enough people complain to WP they might do something about the change.
