I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.
Randomness captures me most every time I begin to write a post… I get easily distracted searching a fact or flipping through photos. Love the iris. Glad you stayed dry, sort of!
Yep, they all made me smile. The bridge picture is very cool. Maybe a music teacher – 2/4 could be a time signature 😉 Wow, camping in that rain must have been… uhm, fun…. yeah, that’s it, fun.
I don’t know why I didn’t think music teacher! Yes, camping in the rain was….well….let’s just say, exhilarating. Especially during the hours of huge thunder booms right overhead.
Yes, several of them made me smile. I do enjoy your photos! When you mentioned going through older ones, I could totally relate. It is so fun to take them, but sometimes I get bad about going back through them too. What do you use for storage of your photos? I have most of mine in the cloud, but I need to be better about backing them up on physical storage I think. You never know when any of these services might go away.
I have them stored on my laptop and have a external hard drive to back them up. I also have some in a cloud somewhere but I don’t know how to get to those. That happens from Lightroom when I’m editing. So only the edited pictures are hovering around in some cloud.
Yea, my mom and dad had a joke between them. Seems when they first got married they went with a real estate agent to look for a house, and were shown several that needed ‘updating.’ Mom said they were horrendous, but the agent just kept saying “If you’ve got half an eye you could fix this right up.” I’m pretty sure they weren’t as bad as THIS one, but it made me smile and think of my folks…with half an eye you could make this one real cute!
Yes! Your pictures made me smile, too! Thank you! The vibrant green crosshatch patterns in the bridge. The old home that probably used to be special to someone. I imagine the attic room with the magical window was a perfect spot for a cozy reading nook. The bearded iris is stunning! Do you remember if it was fragrant? I have some deep yellow bearded iris with a brown eye that smell heavenly – like sweet lemon pudding. Thank you for sharing Dawn – have a good weekend!
Please give Princess Katie a gentle pet for me. 💕 🐾
Definitely SMILING!! Love all your photos and it doesn’t matter when you share your camping trip! It will be new to us even if it’s weeks passed! Love the pretty iris at the end 💜 have a good weekend Dawn!! ❤️💜💙💚 ~ Diana
I love the fire, and the Iris, and the van, and I majored in math and frankly it took me a moment to figure out what someone might find odd about the sign since the message seemed obvious to my brain, love the bridge, the house was sad but wonderful, glad you had a dry spot for sleeping. More randomness please. 🙂

I did indeed smile. Especially when I saw the last one. What a beauty of an iris! I love how it is marbled with white.

I thought it was beautiful too. It’s in a tiny little bed right up next to the Iroquois Lighthouse. I wonder how old it is?

Most of ME was dry, until I packed everything up, then I got sort of soggy.

Mission accomplished — I’m smiling, too! Think I’ll pass on the purchase of that sad little house though!

I don’t know if the iris was fragrant, I didn’t think to smell it. I didn’t know iris had a fragrance!
