I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.
These are fabulous!!! Yes, you’re fortunate to be able to watch the antics of these critters, and we’re fortunate to be able to see them through your lens. I love that squirrel “bro-chillin'” on your deck!
Excellent post! Your pictures and captions are so spot-on. What is the tree with the pink edged leaves? It’s gorgeous! Whatever it is, wonder if it would survive here in northeast Tennessee.
That’s a beech tree. Some years it’s more pink than others. This year it seems to be a very happy tree! Here’s a link, says it lives in zones 4-7. We’re zone 4. We got it at our local nurery a few years ago. Well…now that I think about it, probably in 2006. https://www.monrovia.com/tricolor-european-beech.html
You are so welcome. I get such a kick out of all of them. They fly in from all over the yard as soon as they hear me open the seed bucket in the back yard.
Aren’t they fun? Today I had a family of titmice, a whole bunch of “little” ones asking mama for food. She just ate her peaut and flew away. They all followed. About time they learned to eat for themselves I guess. The crow family was here too this morning. Baby (who is bigger than one of the adults now) asked to be fed but was ignored and he eventually pouted and went and got some seed on his own.

Thank you. Some are through a window. Some I was sitting on the deck and they weren’t bothered.

Love those fledglings! I have such tender feelings for them as their parents help them prepare to go out into the wider world and become independent.
