Change Is Hard

Tales (or Tails) from the backyard part II

These midsummer days are perfect for hanging out on the deck watching the antics of those expecting to be fed.

Wonder what she’s serving today?
The food lady has been a bit slow to serve us lately, I hope I’m not disappointed this morning!
Not one of your better offerings, lady. Maybe you should consider expanding the menu.

Well I certainly don’t have an issue with the menu!

I’m just going to stuff as many seeds into my cheeks as possible….

…oops! The lady is OUT HERE ON THE DECK!!!! RUN!!!!!!

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  2. The squirrel’s face in the third photo says it all! So funny. Expand that menu or words getting out in a heartbeat.

  4. Was reading your post about Katie your dog. I don’t know if you believe in God, but people who had near-death experiences have discovered that the dog. or pet they took care of, is in heaven waiting for them. I had to tell you that – you will see your doggie again!

    • I am struggling. This morning seems to be especially hard, for no apparent reason. I can’t imagine how hard this is for parents whose children die. Or even spouses, or siblings. It’s just so FOREVER…

  8. These little critters are so amusing — and I love the expression in your third photo! That one does look as if he’d like a different chef … or maybe a different special-of-the-day?!!
