Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

Foggy Saturday

This morning my drive into town for my weekly Weight Watchers meeting looked like this:

But the sun was trying to burn off the fog, and I had high hopes for the rest of the day.

By the time I got out of my meeting the sun was shining triumphantly.  It is a beautiful day!  I went over to the farmers market, a beautiful place to visit even if you aren’t going to buy anything.

But who can resist buying something! Maybe some of these purple eggplants?

Or peaches?

Maybe the peppers or tomatoes?

I, of course bought corn and tomatoes and peaches.  It’s going to be a good weekend.  Tomorrow is Aunt V’s 96th birthday.  I’m taking her a dahlia from our garden, a tomato and a peach.  They don’t even need wrapping!

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  3. What a fun day…Our famers market sells fried, in front of your very eyes, sugar donuts. Does that make any sense at all??? And there is no way on earth to resist one…but they sell them for the church and in exchange the church allows them to use their property free of charge for the weekly market. So I am supporting a good cause.
    Fog is kind of fun.

  7. At our farm market on Friday, I found miniature cucumbers, the size of kumquats. Pop one into your mouth and crunch–delicious! Also bought edamame. Had not had either of these items on my shopping list but couldn’t resist. Also honeycrisp apples, David’s favorite. Happy Birthday to Aunt Vi!!! Ninety-six is a great age!

  8. OOOhhhh, I’ll take some of each. Some eggplant parmesan with a nice green salad, maybe some green beans and corn, and then a dish of freshly sliced peaches. No cream needed. Lovely idea, your gifts for Aunt V.
