I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

A like for your photo Dawn, but I hate to see that bird so close to your feeder. I am sure all your visiting birds were cowering close by.

A Cooper’s Hawk! We see them occasionally, too.

Wow! A Cooper’s Hawk at the feeder. I know when all the feeding birds immediately fly away together there’s a hawk nearby. Never had one land on the feeders tho! Perfect timing you got the shot!

What a beauty! But I am sure the other birds don’t think so.

Eeek!! Pretty, but not one I like seeing on the “little bird” feeder. I wonder if “his kind” are the culprits who chopped off a morning dove’s head and left the body beneath one of my backyard trees earlier this week?? (Nah, probably a stray cat, don’t you think?) At least I was able to get at it before Monk did!
