I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

I’m always thrilled when I see my little finches turning yellow. It seems like they do it overnight. But really they get patches of yellow and in a few days they will be completely yellow. The males anyway. The females keep their more demure olive green. They have no need to show off.

I managed to capture a few in our bird sanctuary. My computer has decided to give me trouble and all my photos (not backed up) might be lost…. I’m trying to keep my faith…
