I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. It’s easy to imagine the driftwood as the remains of a vessel whose crew didn’t pay enough attention to that lighthouse! It’s a neat image.

    • Yes, I could see that too, now that you mention it. Whitefish Point is a beautiful and sometimes desolate place. The beach is always filled with giant driftwood, most I imagine thrown up there during the long brutal winters.

  3. I think I’ve said it before, but I do love lighthouses! This is a great one, and I’m fascinated by all that driftwood. Such a well-composed photo!

  5. That’s an interesting photo of the lighthouse and all the driftwood on the beach. It must have been a heck of a tide to bring that much driftwood in. A fellow Michigan blogger and her husband go South from late Fall through Spring and have an RV and pull their vehicle and stop at various sites, then spend the Winter in Alabama. They visited Driftwood Beach in Jekyll Island, Georgia – it is similar to your driftwood pieces, but the whole beach is filled with twisted trees and driftwood. Eerie yet beautiful.
