I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Thank you. I feel ok today. Though I feel a need to go find his birth year so I can figure out how old he’d be. I don’t know why I can’t remember that.

Oops..his birthday is TOMORROW! LOL. Oh well, we’ll celebrate it for two days.
He’d have been 97 tomorrow. I have no doubt he’d have made it to 97 too if not for that semi truck.

I wonder if I have it wrong on the calendar. Will have to go look. So today he’d be a young 96 and tomorrow he will have turned 97.

Quite possible! I used to mix up my parents’ anniversary with my mother’s birthday. One’s on the 4th, the other on the 5th of August 🙂

I could see that happening. My sister’s birthday is the day after dad’s. I can only remember that by remembering my mother telling the story that she didn’t feel well enough to make dad a cake for his birthday that year, so she frosted a meatloaf with catsup. And my sister was born the next day.

My youngest sister was born on my dad’s birthday! Which also happens to be 9/11…

My brother’s birthday (the one standing up in the picture) is 9/11. As is my dad’s mother, our grandmother who died in 1960. No one ever, not once told us he shared a birthday with his grandmother. I find that so odd.

Lordy. My sister, the 9/11 one’s neighbour is also 9/11, as was the secretary where I used to work, as is a cousin of ours! Plus a friend’s daughter was born on 9/11/2001…
That is very odd that no one shared that bit of info!

It IS a great picture. Someone found it and sent it to me. I can’t remember who. I hadn’t seen it before. It’s the four of us kids and dad out at an island in the lake we lived on. We water skiied from that island almost every evening. We had these old white clunky skies, but because they were so wide, it was easy to get up. Plus we weighed next to nothing. The ‘little blue boat’ was our first boat. 35 horsepower, hardly anything. Most of us had to stay on the island while dad pulled one of us around, because having us all in the boat would make it too sluggish to pull a skier. So many memories in that one picture.

Yes I will. I was OK yesterday when I thought it was his birthday. Today I’m ver sad. Over lots of stuff. But missing him is part of it.

That’s close enough and you remembered so that is the main thing. Look how young you all were!
