I started laughing this morning as Katie and I were getting ready to go outside to do her business. All she had to do was get the leash clicked on her collar. I, on the other hand, put on boots, my husband’s double heavy work coat, ear muffs, heavy gloves, pulled the hood up and considered whether or not I needed a scarf.
She waited somewhat patiently, staring intently at the closed door. Finally I was ready for our 5 minute trek into the 7 degree morning and we ventured out.
She did her job in a minute or two and turned to come back inside, where I unclicked her leash and she dashed off. I, meanwhile, shed the boots, earmuffs, gloves, heavy jacket and sighed. She was already on the bed where she wasn’t supposed to be.
OFF!

Did Katie take your glove? Oreo does that EVERYTIME I take mine off.
Having a built in fur coat must be nice, especially in the winter.

Yep, putting on all that stuff to go out for a couple minutes is ridiculous!
Old habits are hard to break – it’ll take awhile with Katie but she’ll get it and she won’t/doesn’t hate you!!!

Dawn, even here in southeastern Virginia I’ve been piling on layers to take my Trudy out for walks: longsleeved t-shirt, heavy sweater, a small scarf around my lower face, hooded sweatshirt, another, bigger scarf for extra protection of head and ears, then my normal coat. Gloves, of course, overlapping the sleeves of at least one shirt. I’ve gotten so I can tie a plastic bag even with gloves on! 🙂

Yep, we humans have it hard. Isn’t it a joy when summer comes and we can run outside in short sleeves and shorts? That does happen again, doesn’t it?
