Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

Just gotta get on the road again

I’ll be heading south later this week, hauling some stuff down for my siblings.  I’ll probably head for North Carolina first, drop off a dresser to a brother, then on to Georgia where I’ll drop off more things to my sister, then skip over to Alabama, visit another brother and finally get all the way over to the big lake and my parents’ cabin.

I have to find windows of good weather, and Thursday looks like my opportunity.

That will mean Katie misses her agility class..but I promise to take her again when the next class starts up.  She’s still a lucky girl, because her Dad is going to stay home with her so she doesn’t have to go to a kennel.  She’ll miss her mama, but not that much.  Silly girl.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. Have a great time on your trip! Will Katie be coming along?

Thanks for the comment you just left me – it went through my comment moderator and I accidentally deleted it! I’ve been getting a bit of spam on my blog so it accidentally went along with it.. but yeah, she sure did get to fly on that teeter, didn’t she!

  2. That cabin looks very inviting, what a beautiful setting. Have a safe trip.

My dogs love getting left home with daddy. It means pizza, hot dogs and hamburgers for dinner every night.

  3. Hope you have a great trip! Mom can’t be without me for long so she doesn’t know how you do it! (Personally I think mom has a bit of a problem). What lake in AL is your parents’ cabin on?

  5. The cabin is on Lake Martin, they live on the northern end near Dadeville.
I’m looking forward to the long drive. I have that wanderlust in me. Course I’m a lot older than I used to be when I did this kind of thing. Katie will love being with her dad too…after about the first night without her mama.

  6. We think Katie should travel just like we do. Our motto is “Dog is Dad’s Copilot.” BOL. We will be on the road next week, heading back to Key West.

  7. We thought about taking her…but she’s not used to long trips like that. We thought we should try her out on something shorter later on.
