Least you think these photos are from this morning…no, they are a couple weeks old…the snow I came back to after our sunny vacation in the Southwest. Hopefully my last salute to winter’s beauty.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

I was hoping our storm Monday was the last…then I checked the forecast this morning. Bummer.

That is just way to much snow for this time of year! The weather is just crazy all over the world – my sister back in Australia said they got 7 inches of rain in two days and she lives in the desert!

Blizzard this morning in Leelanau looks a lot like those pictures of yours from last month, Dawn, except that the air is thick with it, too. March is like that, a see-saw between winter and spring. Courage, all! Only 11 days to the vernal equinox!

The snow always seems mysterious and very fun to us where we maybe get enough snow to stick on the ground maybe every several years, LOL! Kathy

Good bye King Winter! You came, you blew your north wind, snowed your snow, froze the tundras and now it’s time for you to make way for spring!

I’m in Kathy’s camp–snow is beautiful and makes even the most mundane things seem special–for those of us who have to drive 4 hours to find someplace to enjoy the snow and never get it at home.

The good news, here at least, is that snow that comes in March usually does not accumulate in the multiple inches, and usually melts off quickly. I saw a few crocus leaves popping up in one of the flower beds today – celebration!

Going to go hunt some crocus sprouts myself this weekend…they have to be under there somewhere!
