Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

Turtles turtles everywhere

Tonight Katie went ballistic while watching out the front door for her Dad and her Aunt Vi to arrive home from the hospital.

Guess what was in the driveway?  This one hissed at me too, but she was so small it didn’t matter.  I carried her over to the pond (the direction she was headed anyway) and let her go.

Another turtle with a scary life experience who survived to tell the story.

Katie’s mad again.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. Well at least this one wasn’t a snapper, unlike the previous day’s.

  2. Those aren’t snapping turtles are they? Turtles don’t normally hiss – at least not the ones I have every enountered – but then again we have different turtles back home 🙂

  3. Glad you were able to help this turtle to the pond! I love your Katie header photo! And I was just thinking about Aunt V and was happy to hear you were waiting for them to arrive. I sure hope she is doing better!

  4. My goodness…it’s raining turtles by you. Poor Katie–she could have given it something to hiss about….

  5. I remember walking the collies early one morning (4:30 AM) a two or three years ago. During that walk Deacon managed to meet a turtle that I didn’t see. I swear he must have jumped a foot in the air and landed on my foot. It took me a split second to figure out why, then I just had a good hearty laugh at my silly boy. I think he was startled when the rock moved.

Amy, saw another huge turtle in our yard when I went to work. This time I just went to work and left it. It’s on it’s own!
