I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. How cute is this?! I don’t think I have ever seen one lying down like this–they’re mostly always eating!

    • I’ve seen this once before on the deck railing, and once up in a tree, sleeping on a branch with all four feet hanging down. This guy was asleep when I first saw him, but woke to watch me taking his picture.

  5. Domer and his friends refer to this squirrel’s position as “bro-chillin’.” Don’t ask me why, but it seems pretty descriptive, doesn’t it? Great capture!

  7. I try for the tail if I could. Thanks for inquiring after me. I am having a real hard time with my liver, it is total nodulars and very small it is not regenerating itself. I had a TruCut biopsy under ultrasound of five regions. If you read our post about my bad surgery and teeth cleaning ~ well it gets worse the anesthesia I got was way to much and I got chemical injury to my liver. I have been on drug Imuran to try and suppress what is happening but it did not work that was my best chance. Now Ursodiol they say it helps with certain types of liver problems but the specialist does not give it much hope.
Lee got a dietitian to work out a liver helping diet and I get extra Vitamin E. But the specialist does not think my liver is capable of regenerating because it is to sick. So they have given me a short time but Lee needs me so and I keep trying for her. I am happy and not in pain. Lee is so sad all the time.
    Thanks

  8. LOL! The chillin’ squirrel! We love squirrels so much. We’ve found them lying in bird baths, on tree limbs, on fence rails (like yours), etc. One year, I had just filled the kiddie pool for the grandkids, went into the house for something, and when I got back, a squirrel was happily splashing in the water!

    Blessings to you, Dawn! ♥

    • I’ve only seen a couple squirrels like this, once on our deck, like this one, and a couple times up in a tree, sleeping with legs hanging down. This guy was asleep when I first saw him but woke up to watch me take his picture.

  9. This made me laugh. Thank you. 🙂 I imagine our squirrels might look something like this if they had a railing to stretch out on. We’re all melting from the heat (which I think you’re experiencing in DC — our weather is very similar).

  11. That brought a big smile. 🙂 I have a similar photo of what must be this guy’s sister on the fence railing around my back deck near Seattle a few years ago. Must be the only two squirrels that ever do this yes?
