I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

    • Katie and I are pretty minimal when we camp. I have a chair and a little table, and a few bags of food I can eat cold. She actually brings more stuff, what with her princess pillow and numerous bowls and such.

  5. I hope the princess got to go on this adventure! Me, I’d be sleeping in the car — far away from bats and crawly things in the night, ha!

  8. Hi, Dawn – I’m so happy to hear that Katie got to go on this camping trip with you. I hope that she enjoyed it…and was treated like the true princess that she is! 😀

    • Absolutely. The first night she got me up a lot, starting about 3, every hour and then every half hour, so I was less then happy. The second night was predicted to have heavy thunderstorms and rain for hours, and I couldn’t see her and me trapped in a small tent for 8 hours, especially as she’d likely be wet…so she went home and spent that night with her dad and I got to sleep listening to the rain on my own. I went and got her for day 3, and that night we had noisy neighbors all night, which she slept through and didn’t get me up except for 2:30 in the morning to pee, and 5:00 for breakfast. She loved the whole thing, but she also seemed to be grateful when we came home Thursday morning. She raced inside and went looking for her dad.
