It’s a long story and I don’t have time to tell it. So you’ll just have to be happy with this image of a sandhill crane colt.

Look at it’s tiny little wings!

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

That’s spectacular. The wings are fascinating. And look at those long legs, just waiting to grow.

Yes, they’re all legs at the beginning. Actually, they’re always all legs! 🙂

He or she was adorable. He/she ran right up to me. Of course my camera was, at that moment, in the car. It ran up to all sorts of people, because mom and dad were busy digging up worms and insects, which it would take from their beaks, but if he/she had extra time he’d see if any of the people standing around had anything good. Silly little bird.

I’ve been trying to get a decent picture of a colt for years. There’s a long story to this one…and it’s not perfect…but he/she is adorable!

It does. When they fly as adults (can you believe this little thing will soon be flying??) they sort of look that way too.

great photo of wonder and curiosity… small creatures that grow into large creatures. Will there be a story? Stay curious. Peace.

I’m traveling across the UP, using wifi hotspots when I find them. By the time I get back there will be many stories. I’ll try to tell them…probably the abbreviated versions.

Enjoy your journey. Wi-fi hotspots usually good for a short burst or email for me. I do most of work off-line using Word and Photoshop then uploading and fine-tuning using wi-fi before hitting publish. Peace
