I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Wasn’t it! I was driving into the refuge, still sleepy, and my brain couldn’t comprehend what that pinkish globe was out there over the water.

It was even more special because I didn’t go looking for it, and only got there with a couple minutes to spare or I would have missed it.

Golly, this sight alone is enough to make your journey worthwhile (but yesterday’s lighthouse comes close, ha!)

Beautiful – and enhanced by the fact that there are no rainclouds to obscure it.

I was soooooo lucky. The clouds piled in right after the moon went down.

Gorgeous! When I saw the moon coming up over the lake … I said to myself… “why did you not bring your good camera from AZ with you to PA???”

I got so lucky this time. In the right place at the right time with no planning on my part. AND I had a camera with me!

I was so disoriented from lack of sleep it took me a minute to figure out what that pink glob was in the sky. Then I only had a couple minutes to find somewhere to park, no time to put the tripod up. I was grateful that I saw it.
