Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

Don’t forget Walktober this year!

As you read in a previous post, Robin is a little busy so I’ll be collecting your Walktober adventures this year.

If you’re new to the concept of Walktober, it’s pretty simple. Sometime between October 15 and the 28th go on a walk (or a bike ride, or a boat ride, or a car ride, or a jog, or a hike, or climb a mountain, or explore a town or show us your backyard!), take a few (or a lot) of pictures and show us around your part of the world by writing a post and linking it to my official Walktober post.

I’ll be posting the official start to Walktober on October 15th. But if you want to walk earlier, feel free to link it to this one! I’ll find it.

And sometime not too long after October 28th I’ll write a post with all the links to your walks, so that everyone can see where everyone else went! And if you need some more time, just let me know. I’ll wait to post that last compilation till you get yours written.

I can’t wait to see where you all go. I haven’t decided where to take my official walk. So many options, so little time!

Stay tuned!

Pictures in this post are from Shiawasee Nature Preserve, a walk taken a few years ago. I figured you wouldn’t mind seeing them again.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. Photo 4! Your trees have such magnificent color compared to here on the west coast. Thank for doing this for Robin, I bet it takes a bit of time to wrangle this.

  5. Hi Dawn, this sounds like a lot of fun. Will mark my calendar and think about where to walk. Thanks for the heads-up!

  6. Ooooh, that sounds fun! I love the half green/red maple leaves you captured. Ours trees burst into color and then we had rain and wind and they’re almost all done with fall. Walktober sounds fun – thank you for the invite to join in!

  7. I’m all set up with my friend for this coming Saturday (please Mother Nature be kind!) to go for my walk. She kept me company a few years ago so it will be nice to be co-clickers 🙂

  8. I’m glad you pointed out that these photos are from a few years ago. We certainly don’t have color that pretty here right now! I’m hoping to wait until things start turning before taking my walk — no sense showing everyone more green, ha!

  9. Thank you again, Dawn, for doing this. 🙂 I might be submitting my walk early. Just returned from visiting the grandkids and we stopped in western Maryland on the way home where the color was not quite at peak (about a week away from it) but still quite beautiful. Plus, I’m leaving for another trip next week (going to Atlanta).
