I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

It was over at Katie’s park. I love to photograph shelties in front of brown grasses.

NAK will be so proud of her ‘sister’ – and how well she’s taking care of her SheltieMommie and SheltieDaddie!

Yes, I’m pretty sure NAK is telling Penny how to get around all our rules. And which drawers to make sure she barks at (tin foil drawer for one.).

Thank you. I was going to write a Thanksgiving post…but I can’t seem to get it off the ground. So this will work. She’s a stunner of a little (big) girl.

What a striking photo of Penny amongst the crumpled leaves … even with crumpled leaves, Fall remains my favorite season.

Just went and read your ‘about’ page on your blog and the comments there. I graduated from MSU in 1978 with a degree in marketing which I never really used either. Went back and got an MBA in 1988. And went back again in 2006 and got my Masters of Information (Huh, what a title!) in order to work in libraries…which I only got to use for a year. But it was all fun! I live in SE Michigan too.

We have a lot in common Dawn, including living here in SE Michigan. I am sorry I never got to use my mass communications/print journalism degree. A lot of people wanted to be journalists and/or investigative reporters after Woodward and Bernstein. The market was flooded for me to even find a job as a “stringer” on a local paper. I worked briefly at an ad agency to work my way up the ladder, but ended up a legal secretary, now going on 44 years. I plan to retire the end of February – my boss is 76 and wants to “die with his boots on” … I do not, so we will part ways after 23 years of working together. I worked with a paralegal who had a library science degree from MSU and decided to try out legal for a while and stayed in that field.
