Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

We’re behind!

Hey everybody! It’s me Penny.

Mom says we haven’t had internet for a million years. Ok, maybe it only FELT like a million years, maybe it was just about a week.

Mom told me to sit on this bench. So I did.

Anyway I’ve been to lots and lots of parks lately ’cause mom and dad are getting stuff done on the house and I tend to bark a lot while stuff is being done on the house.

But mom! I’m not sure about sitting next to a BOY!

Plus mom says it’s really nice to have the time to go to parks and work on my behavior issues. Seriously mom? Does it look like I have behavior issues?

Deuce seemed to tolerate my curiosity, but I don’t think he was thrilled to sit next to a GIRL either.

I didn’t think so.

Mom says she has some really nice pictures of me that she will share with you once she gets them edited and stuff. Which could be a million years from now.

Or a about a week.

Pictures in this post were taken by my Aunt Karen, Deuce’s mom.

Hard telling with mom.

Signing off for now, your photography model and exemplary citizen,

Penny.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. Hi, sweet Penny! Think of all of the park trips as a bonus! And you get a break from all the noises and strangers in your home. Deuce does not look too thrilled to be sitting on the bench. Maybe he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. LOL! Do your best to work with mom and listen to her commands. Thank you for the update. Sending a gentle pat on the head for a very good girl. 💕

  3. haha! Oh, Deuce. His expression did not change in any photo–but he looks like a sweetheart.

I don’t know, Penny–do you think if you barked more that might make the workers work faster? It might be worth a try!

And really–behavior issues?! I think not.

  4. Behavior issues, Penny? Cannot be! If it’s because you bark at other dogs and strangers, well, doesn’t that mean you’re just doing your job and warning your mom of potential dangers? Hmph!

  5. Miss Penny, I love that last picture of you and Deuce — looks like you two finally made peace (or perhaps were simply waiting for the good cookies to come out!). Monk doesn’t do well with workers in the house either — probably a Sheltie thing. He’s curious enough to want to sniff them, but when they reach toward him to pet, he scoots away. Silly pup!

  7. Humans can get so busy with boring things. Penny, you’re so lucky to get to walk in so many parks.

  8. An adorable photo shoot Penny. Deuce looks oddly sad, must be the shape of his mouth! Enjoy those parks – I need to get out to some too.

  9. Well Penny, girls rule in this series of photos and otherwise. Look how photogenic you are and Deuce is stoic and silent.

  10. Penny, you look like such a well-behaved little girl even though you are sitting next to a boy dog, not of your own choice. Good for you! The work will be done soon, and you will have a calm home with no strangers in it, so you can rest easy again (and Mom can too!).

  15. it happens. Our two pups are so different, but they are nine years apart. The youngest is still a puppy and is all about hunting and patrolling the yard. The oldest sleeps and eats and snuggles. But they love each other and there is nothing more comforting than to have a puppy snuggle with you in the morning. Stay strong and patient. Peace.

  16. You look quite angelic in these photos Penny. Your mom sounds quite unappreciative of you saving her life from the strangers in YOUR house with WEAPONS (that are disguised as tools).
