I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

We were lucky to get outside (no fenced yard so I have to take her out on a leash) between the worst of the rain, but we still got plenty wet. She likes to take her time.

It was a lot of rain! I think we have our allotment for the summer, we got over 3.5 inches. In one day. Maybe that’s normal for FL, but not so much up here.

Penny likes to take her time picking out the perfect pee spot. So we both got soaked every time she decided she just had to go outside that day.

Levi does the same! Angel Dakota used to do his business IMMEDIATELY when he would go outside. Not Levi……he has to walk to Timbuktu ……..ESPECIALLY in bad weather!

I know. She’s so cute, even when she’s soaking wet. At least the first time. After a full day of taking her out in pouring rain whenever she asked she got to be a tiny bit less cute.

Aw, Miss Penny, we had that rain from Beryl, too. Monk had to go outside in a downpour, but at least he had the whale coat on! He doesn’t particularly like it, but I keep reminding him I’m the mama, and I don’t particularly want to smell eau du wet dawg all day long either! Hang in there. This, too, shall pass.

I don’t think I’d get her into a coat…but we DID play the towel game when we went inside, and that’s a big hit with her.

I don’t mind it once in awhile. She’s not so happy to be all soggy, but she loves to be outside so she puts up with wet.
