I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.
What a great view from your chair! I don’t think I’d ever get a thing done sitting there, there’s so much nature to watch! I hope this poor little guy found something tasty. He’s probably young enough for you to train him to eat right from your hand!
They sure are. I put all the feeders away for a couple weeks when we had some work done. The birds abandoned me almost immediately. But when I was out filling the feeders again they came swarming back. It was pretty cool. So I think they watch the house most of the time.
Ha ha – good thing that the beak didn’t get stuck in the port because Mama would have come over and squawked at you, even though it’s the kid’s fault! You had a bird’s eye view of this fun show!
One of the little white plastic flowers is now missing and there’s a much bigger hole…however, today he was still sticking his tongue down one of the smaller openings.
Oh, this made me grin so big! 🙂 I love your “bird talk”, Dawn. Maybe we humans could use a little “bird talk” these days. Let’s love whatever and whoever we see. 🙂
Our local bear has destroyed 2 of my hummingbird feeders in the past week. I thought he would ignore that feeder (I removed all my seed/suet feeders for the summer to prevent him from coming back), but I guess bears have a sweet tooth too.
Well at least I don’t have a bear problem. Though there have been reported sightings of bear in the town just a few miles north of us. WAY too far south for bears to be around here, so don’t know if I believe them…but still….it’s possible I guess.

Never, ever, ever give up! Where there’s a will, there’s a way! Hey lady–how in the heck do I get into this thing?! A fun post, Dawn.

I think the feeder is leaking and there are drops of sugar water hanging under it. Or….not. He’s here all the time now.

I don’t get a lot done. I might just blame the view.

I think he likes the sugar water. We have two large bird baths on the deck railing. He might have a sweet tooth.

I hope its tongue doesn’t get damaged doing that – SMH. I saw you had an ant moat, so he isn’t going after any ants trying to get into the feeder.

He’s managed to drain the feeder on more than one occasion, but somehow that doesn’t bother me.
