I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

A mature male and what is likely last year’s juvie male. Still waiting to see a female arrive. ALSO a HUMMINGBIRD just landed on my hummer feeder, no picture, but very cool.

Aren’t they splendid?! I love the colors, particularly of the adult male, who looks like he was happy to pose in response to the banquet!

I have two, possibly three, adult males They’re all pretty skittish but they’re beginning to chase each other around, so I am guessing females are here or very near.

The colors are just amazing. Especially as the sun goes down.

Oh wow! I was just reading something about Baltimore Orioles. I can’t remember what it was. lol! Beautiful colors. I saw one here out the window but he flew off before I could grab my camera.

Mine are very skittish especially at the beginning of the season. Toward the end they will sit on the feeder and click their tongues at me if it’s empty. They seem to know when we’re sitting in here watching them. If we move, even inside, they fly off right now. They’re getting used to Penny’s face pushed up against the window, but they don’t like us humans to move around too much.

Such bright colors and both of them sitting there, waiting to chow down. Did they show up in today’s rain too? It’s be easy to spot them on this gray and dismal day.

Well they were there at different times (though once one left as the other arrived) and were there a bit when it was raining, but not as much as when it wasn’t. This morning the grape jelly was completely gone, licked clean by either the birds, a racoon, or overnight rain, though there was no water in the pockets.

I hope you keep getting them so we get to see the photos. I’ve only seen a couple of Baltimore Orioles, both at Lake Erie Metropark, but only got blurry pictures.

I should, based on other years. They will be around now, then not so much as they take care of young ones. Then they bring the young ones to the feeder and it’s chaos for a little, at the end of summer.

Well, you’ll be enjoying the visits by them and the hummingbirds (who now wish they’d stayed South a little longer) – brrr!

I was so excited to see them. In my head they come back around May 5, but I saw in my FB memories they were here last year at the end of April too. Probably climate change.

So pretty! There was a bright beautiful male right outside my classroom window on Friday – saw it during my prep period and tried to take a picture but he was too quick. Orioles are my school’s mascot so that would’ve been a great shot to get.
