I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

    • Yes, he and the downy woodpeckers often work at getting sugar water out of the hummingbird feeder. I think the raccoon does at night too. I try to remember to bring it in at night.

      • They keep you busy filling it – hope the hummingbirds get some as well! A fellow blogger lives in Tofino, B.C. and a few years ago he did a post of all his hummingbirds (I think his are Anna’s Hummingbirds). He has a tall feeder and at dusk they come for one final sip – he gets about 20+ hummingbirds and sometimes he has to hold the feeder with his hand to steady it as they try to push each other off the ports. In the video a few of the hummingbirds just perched on his hand while waiting their turn. 🙂

    • That’s exactly what he was telling me. I hurried up and got more jelly in his big ole orange feeder so he would leave this to the sweet little hummingbirds. Not that they’re above buzzing him to get to their spot.
