I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. It’s that Band time again — woo hoo!! Ours starts this coming Monday, and I am so ready. My flute is back from the repair shop (routine maintenance), and I’m eager to play it again. Congrats!!

    • This summer felt both long and short. I never got my instrument in for work. Hmmmmm….I have to miss a rehearsal at the end of September. If I’m organized I’ll take it in before we leave for DC, they’ll have two weeks…hoping that’s enough time.

    • I have to say we sounded pretty OK at rehearsal this past Tuesday, especially since it was the first one of the season and most of us had not touched our instruments all summer. And we were under the baton of a brand new music director, figuring out how to read his conducting. He was tryng to figure us out too.

  3. Hi Dawn – I thought of you when I saw this video even though you don’t play in a college marching band. This made me smile:
