Penny here. I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you all Happy Holidays! And I would have done that sooner except my mom holds the keys to this blog and she’s pretty stingy with them.

And it’s not just the laptop she’s stingy with. I noticed a pile of Christmas presents over by the fireplace last week. I just knew they were for me. After all, who else in this household deserves presents more than me?
So I was very excited as we approached the magic day to find out what was inside all those boxes.

And do you know what? Not one, not ONE was for me! They were all for mom and daddy. Can you believe that?

Mom said I didn’t need anything, that whenever I did need something they went right out and got it for me so I didn’t have to wait. Well, she’s not wrong about that.
Still….
Mom did take me to Katie’s park on the one day that the weather was nice and she and I had a wonderful time. Most of these images are from that walk.

Don’t tell mom, but that was a pretty good present, all in itself. I’m ready for another walk at one of my parks, but mom says we have to wait until the sun comes out to melt all the ice around here. She says she’s afraid of falling, and she’s not sure I’d do a Lassie and go for help.

Well. If I got Christmas presents I might. Mom doesn’t always think about the larger picture.
Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful time and lots and lots of presents from the people and pets you love. And I hope you have a wonderful New Year too!

I don’t suppose I can expect presents for New Years Eve…

Hi sweet Penny! You got the ultimate best present when mommy and daddy made you part of their family. You hit the lottery! Thank you for sharing your trip to Katie’s park. Sending you a gentle pat and a kiss on the head. Merry Christmas!

Hi Ms. Denise. I know. That’s why I don’t make too big a deal over the lack of presents. Someone told me my sister Katie used to get presents once in awhile, but I’m OK with that. She was a princess, and I’m just an all around girl, you know? N I love my mom and dad so much I don’t need anything else.

This was a cute update. No dog presents! I read this out loud, just so that Vader and Patches know this is normal and they stop complaining. Happy New Year.

Not fair! (Wren wants you know that she and Annie didn’t get presents either. Mom says she spends enough on pet food as it is, ha!)

Poor Penny. Your mom makes a good point about buying furkids presents as soon as possible (holiday or not). Still, I Monkey am a firm believer that every day is Christmas, and presents should be handed out liberally. Our snow has all melted, so I enjoyed your pictures reminding me what it looked like. My mom liked the one of you on the bench, and I Monkey liked the last one with you giving your mom the stink eye. You’ve got that down pat, heh heh!

Oh yes, she must have been BORN knowing how to do the stink eye.

Never give up hope, Penny! New Years Eve presents might catch on. You look really cute in your Santa hat and we are glad your mama took you on a Christmas walk. Looks fun to us! — the (indoor only) Florida kitties

Nobody got anything on New Years either. In fact we were asleep before that even happened. Not on Jan 1 either. Penny thinks she needs new parents. A younger hipper pair she thinks would be good.

I know you are spoiled in other ways Penny – yes, Mom is right about how she and Dad buy you anything you need, want or desire (including cheese). The weather outside is frightful these days, so I’m glad you got out for a walk. Better stay inside tomorrow though as you may roll like a tumbleweed.

It sure was windy that next day! She and I got out yesterday and we even had a little sun!

Sun is so welcome for all these gloomy days. Today, was a good day to be inside! I’m still sorting through photos and asking myself why I take so many??

Chewy didn’t get any presents either, even though he is a very good boy. He did get kielbasa though, so all is well.
Merry Christmas!

Penny you look so cute in that hat! Don’t feel bad, I didn’t get anything either. Mom says my bully habit costs a fortune and I get that twice a month all year so I guess that’s my present (along with KONG cheese) and various other goodies throughout the year! Hoping you all have a happy new year! Love, Levi and Mom
