Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

Back yard color

I thought I had missed fall during the week we were out of town.  We left when there were still lots of green leaves, and came back to many bare branches.

This past week I went to work early in the morning and returned after dark, either because of work or band events.  Thursday I finally came home before dark and realized that we still have lots of pretty colors in the yard.

Katie and I went out to play Frisbee this afternoon.  I, of course, took the camera.

She had a blast running around,

…chasing the frisbee……

and ignoring her Mama.

Though sometimes she’d sit in front of a pretty tree or shrub.

If I asked nicely.

So I did.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. Your lawn is immaculate!

Glad you got out to see some color…before the grey of winter sets in 😦

  2. Pretty! Both Katie and the leaves! I really like the asters in your header photo!

Thought of you last night at the end of really difficult piece when the orchestra somehow managed to end together! Trouble is we have to do it again tonight and tomorrow afternoon – LOL!

  4. Katie looks like she is getting her winter coat already. The trees around here haven’t really changed color – the leaves just basically fell off.

  5. Your backyard is so beautiful. Katie looks so happy with her frisbee as her mom came home early and played with her.

The colours of the fall – the colours and the time that I miss so much!!!

  6. Oh nothing immaculate about our lawn, it just got lots of rain this fall! LOL! Ricky’s Mom: What piece of music are you playing! Hope tonight went well! We were in AA at the symphony and I thought of you a lot too! PJ: Yes I love my ginko! Katie says HI to all of you, she knows you’ve been missing her.

  7. Oh..and her winter coat? No, she’s just about 3 weeks over due at the groomer, because she wasn’t feeling well the week before we left so we canceled her appointment, then we were gone, then we wanted her to settle down some from her week at the kennel, so she’s going to the beauty parlor on Wed. She’ll look less FUZZY after that! I hope!

  9. Awww Mom! You know it’s impossible to listen to you and still gather all the information that’s needed. Sometimes a girl just needs to follow her heart – errr, her nose.

  10. Ginkgo leaves. Dog Dad loves those trees, probably because they have been around since the dinosaures. One was by the library in the town he grew up. When he was a lad, he wanted to be a paleontologist. We haven’t seen on in Florida though.
