Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

Define summer

Scott has posted another photo challenge.  I’ve been so busy I might have missed it except for Karma’s reminder.

Scott wants to know about favorite summer places, events, food from our areas of the world.  He’d like to see photos so compelling he’d book a vacation just based on what we show him!

It’s due next Wednesday which means if I’m going to do this I had better get out there this weekend.  Wait.  It already is this weekend.  How does this happen?  Anyway, it’s not too late for you to look around your hometown/state and find the perfect photo to showcase what you love about summer!

Meanwhile, let me share with you a photo my sister took while she was in Iceland.  It sums up how I feel about work lately.

It's called "The unknown clerk."

It’s called “The unknown clerk.”

Maybe you feel the same way?  In that case there’s double reason for you to get out and look for summer fun!  Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Yes I mean you too.

Much of my summer. Not compelling.

Much of my summer. Not compelling.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. Oh Jeff always talks about going to iceland! Did she see any northern lights?

It’s been too hot here to enjoy summer this past week. Hopefully next week summer fun will resume.

  3. It is a challenge, isn’t it? I’m not sure how enticing I will be able to make this little corner of Massachusetts look, but I will try. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

  4. Life is not allowing me to venture forth and find compelling summer things, but I look forward to seeing yours. And Karma’s.

  7. I probably won’t play, either, but will enjoy looking at what some of the rest of you come up with. Has the weather gotten warmer down South?

  8. I’m amused that you shared both an amusing statue and yourself mowing. It’s compelling in a way, just not one that makes me want to vacation there. I hope you kicked back somewhere wonderful after climbing off that Deere 🙂
