I have survived the first day back to work after being off for a week. Can’t say that it was easy. I felt as though I had been to another country and gone for a very long time. I suppose that’s good, it must mean that the vacation successfully removed me from the stress of the office.
But being back in the cubicle was difficult today, too many emails, too many issues, too many people that needed something. Too much to do in too little time. I’m sure I’ll get back on top of it, get it back under control.
Meanwhile I hope you enjoyed a few more photos from last week, photos I hadn’t had an opportunity to show you yet. I didn’t take one of them, all the credit belongs to husband, but they remind me that there is more out there in the world than my beige cubicle and that sometime, hopefully soon, I’ll be off on another adventure.
Far or near, adventures sure make things better!

We all need an escape every once in awhile!
Everyone at school was really cranky yesterday. Lots of fights. That usually means we are due for a vacation! And guess what, one is coming right up next week. Can’t wait.

Print that picture of yourself relaxing at Hearst Castle to help put things in perspective when you’re overwhelmed. What’s that saying: Your lack of preparedness doesn’t constitute an emergency for me? Not appropriate to tell this to one’s boss, no matter how prevalent it may be, but we are allowed to think it!

Wait. Are you in my industry? Because ALL of their lack of preparedness is ALWAYS my emergency. LOL…

I think Mommy needs a vacation. Weread your blog post — and then Mommy spaced out — imagining what it was like being on a vacation like that. When Mommy finally came back to reality — she was like — did we write a comment? So, since we aren’t sure if we submitted a comment yet — we are writing to say — that vacation looked pawsome!

Now you can decorate your plain beige cubicle with interesting “Dawn-away-from-home” vacation photos — and remember how GOOD it felt to get away for a while!

And one day you will be free of your beige cubicle forever and life will be a vacation. Sort of.

Re-entry can be VERY challenging. Even today I’m trying to fit back into this world gracefully. (And yesterday was a catch-up day at work.)

if only our vacations could be as long as our working time and working time the same as our vacation……life would be so much easier

Looks like a wonderful adventure. Re-entry always takes a while for me, and sometimes I get a case of the post-vacation blues. That’s when the images and memories come in handy. It’s a good way to go back for a little while. 🙂

Your vacation sounds perfectly restorative. And gosh is it ever hard to return to normalcy? Good luck – I’m sure the transition will happen sooner or later 🙂

Glad you had such a wonderful time. It is hard to get back into the swing of things. Glad you have your pictures to remind you of fun memories and while reality kicks in you can tell yourself you chose to come home to Katy and not to work.
