I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

wonderful to see these gorgeous blooms on a snowy, cloudy, Wednesday in Michigan! My first sign of Spring!

The photo was taken last June and I just happened on it. It’s so pretty and we could all use a little color, even though today it is snowing again…eventually we will be enjoying lilacs for real!

Lilacs…grow as big bushes. Bloom in spring. Multitude of colors most in shades of purple.

So pretty, Dawn. I saw our daffodils peeking through the ground the other day, so yes, Mother Nature knows Spring is on its way (though we have to get through Winter first!)

Aren’t they? These are over in Elk Rapids, a little town over on the coast of Lake Michigan.

When I was a kid, I was always impatient for some future event, and my mother would say (over and over), “Don’t wish your life away.” Now every night when I go to sleep, I am impatient for morning. Still leaping ahead. It will be a while before lilacs bloom, though.

Yes, I feel like I’m doing that too, wishing so much to be retired. I think I will be more impatient for morning when I’m no longer working. 🙂 Lilacs will be here before you know it.

Love lilacs. They seem so far away right now as the snow is falling.
