Change Is Hard

Nothing sneaks up on us!

It's raining mama!

It’s raining mama!

It’s raining here in Michigan. In January. Complete with thunder and lightening, which is kind of different for around here in mid-winter. But we have nothing to worry about, no storm arrives that we haven’t been warned.

Loudly and often.

Yes indeed, we have a Storm Sheltie, and she barks to announce rain on the roof no matter the season. I wouldn’t want to be caught in a storm without one.

Good job Katie-girl.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. Good job Katie is right! She barks at just rain? Dakota barks at thunder but not the rain, gotta love those Shelties and their 24-7 security alert systems that are built-in!!

  2. Well, yes, because that rain is an imminent – and perhaps even eminent- threat.

  3. I’ve got one of those, too, and isn’t it grand?! Don’t you love being prepared?! It’s not like we can’t watch TV reports of the weather, or look outside the windows. Nope, all unnecessary when you’ve got a Storm Sheltie. Good job, Princess!

  4. No more cone. Hope everything was successful.

Our stray will be in one soon, as she is due to be spayed. My fear is her jumping.

  5. Wow. My dog just barks at cars outside. This winter he’d be pretty busy if he barked at rain because we’ve had a lot. I fear our Rideau Canal will not be the world’s longest skating rink this year.

  6. Thanks for the heads up Katie! Chewy must’ve heard you, because he wouldn’t leave the porch today. Couldn’t risk getting his hair wet.

  7. Good thing you don’t live here. Katie would constantly be losing her voice. Though after two months of daily alerts that might be considered a good thing…
