I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Beautiiful! Your bluebirds are so much more brightly colored than ours. Changing birds here – I’ve had a Bullock’s Oriole at my hummingbird feeder the past two days – my excitement!

That would be exciting. The female of our Baltimore Orioles is fascinated by the hummingbird feeder too. She spends considerable time over there trying to figure out how to get to the nectar. Silly girl. Meanwhile the boys are eating all the jelly over at the oriole feeder.

I haven’t seen her since, so maybe she was migrating. Oh well, this morning I had a hummingbird – a Rufous I think.

Spotting a blue bird is the most exciting bird sighting to me! They are NY’s state bird, but despite decades of being on the lookout, I only started spotting them recently. There is a park nearby with large grassy fields and bird houses, so that’s where I get lucky every once in awhile.
They are so BLUE! You took great photos, they really capture that spectacular color.

They ARE so blue! I wonder if NY is having a bluebird resurgence, you know, like we’re having with bald eagles. I’m glad you’re seeing more of them!

We don’t get them nesting here very often, so I feel honored.

Thank you. Was standing on the deck with Katie-girl the sheltie and noticed daddy bluebird standing there Went in and got the camera which usually means the bird won’t be there when I get back, but he was, and then Mrs. showed up too!
