It’s winter here, with storm fronts headed our way.

Birds know when it’s going to get rough and they stock up just like humans do.

All the birds have been hungry, emptying feeders daily.

We even put out suet to help them fuel up.

In return they’ve allowed me to grab a few images from my warm living room.

I love my birds. They’re not aware of the one shot one treat rule.

So far anyway.

Ages ago, our daily newspaper ran a short ad throughout asking people to Feed the Birds. We did … and it was so rewarding to be able to watch them. Now, of course, Monkey thinks the backyard is no place for any critters except him, and he chases everything off. But at least I can enjoy seeing your yard’s birds … without having to brave the cold and replenish the feeders!!

Yes, I’m out there every morning, rain or shine, to fill multiple feeders. They wait for me up in the trees, talking about how slow the help is.

They certainly do. Though the finches are currently striking because I used cheaper thistle that they don’t like. So I’ll have to go get some more good stuff.

I go to Fred Meyer or Safeway and spend money … the birds just wait in the trees around your back yard and get plenty to eat. Who is smarter? 🙂 Hmmm.
