I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

I was in the living room, far away, saw a bit of blue and luckily the camera was within reach. Even through the dirty window at an odd angle they were beautiful!

What a beauty! Living on the edge of the forest, we don’t get them very often.

We see them off and on all summer. They usually fly in and out of a nesting box, but don’t usually end up having their family there. One year recently they did. I heard babies! 🙂

LOL….she’s a beauty too, just much more elegant and less flashy…she doesn’t feel the need to show off, she’s confident without the show.

Such pretty birdies!! I haven’t seen any of these around here — maybe those noisy bluejays chase them off??

I’m surprised you don’t have any. They are plentiful in Alabama, and up here in Michigan so I assumed they’d be in your area too.

That’s odd. The map says we should have them. I wonder why I haven’t seen any?? BTW, I love your header with Miss Penny in the snow!

The blue birds are back!!!! Yay, that means Spring is here, right!? Splendid photos you captured. Is that a special feeder or stand you have in your yard? Happy Spring, Dawn!!

I think spring is here. Of course we’ll get one more dump of snow, but it won’t stick around long. I have daffodils with BUDS!!!

YAY – snow at this time of year is frustrating, and you’re right it doesn’t stick around. I feel like it happens just to slow the sprouts so we can enjoy them longer into the warmer months. Aw, daffodils, they’re such a happy flower to greet us early spring!

I get more excited about blue birds than any other bird. You got some great shots. They are stunning.
I rarely see any, but have seen a couple in my yard a few times recently. Hope they like it here and have some babies.

The first year we were here, 92 or so, we had bluebirds in a nesting box and that was so fun Since then I think we’ve had a bluebird family maybe one more time. Maybe this year!

She hasn’t noticed much of anything outside. Even when we’re outside. She has casually watched squirrels run around and not barked at them. I don’t know if she’ll grow into a barker but it’s OK with me if she doesn’t.

Thanks! I hope it’s spring soon, pouring rain here today is better than more snow, but I’m not fooling myself into thinking we’re through with snow yet. There is always one more storm, usually in April just to put us in our place.
