Hey everybody! It’s me, your Adventure-girl, Penny!

Guess what, guess what, guess WHAT! I got to go on my very first adventure (that wasn’t a trip to the vet) and let me tell you, there’s a whole world out there.
I can’t wait to see it all!

I personally think I’m going to be very popular with the world, but enough about me. Oh wait. There’s never enough about me!

ANYWAY…this week mom needed to get some photos of her (huh, that’s different isn’t it!) so she made arrangements with a photographer to meet her at the family farm down in Ann Arbor. And she took me along with her!

I rode in the back seat of the car wearing a harness and a seat belt instead of being in my crate. So I got to watch stuff out the window and you know what? I didn’t throw up even once! Mom says I might turn out to be an awesome traveler!

After mom got her picture taken near the pretty red barns she took a few pictures of me. She says it’s a challenge, whatever that means.

But I’m getting the hang of it. As long as mom has treats in her pockets and patience in her heart, we get it done together.

Mom said she was very happy with me even though I didn’t always want to look at her when she was taking pictures. Geeze mom, there was a LOT to look at and I needed to make sure we were safe from anything lurking around the backside of those barns!

Mom told me some stories about when she was a little girl and spent time at this farm. It sounds like she has a lot of good memories.

And now she has a new memory at the farm that includes me!

What a wonderful adventure! Really like pretty Penny against those red doors. And great that the seatbelt was used rather than the crate.

She enjoyed the ride more when she could see out and she wasn’t enclosed in a stuffy crate.

She’s learning how to sit for me, but she doesn’t like to have her back up against anything. She’s not so trusting yet.

Well, I won’t say she LOVES the car yet…but not throwing up is a big step. I was prepared with stuff to clean it up just in case. She loved exploring the farm, and I loved sharing it with her.

Yes Penny, you do look good! Better than good 🙂
Love the rustic red barn… is that a silo I see there? How wonderful that this charmer is a family barn. Lots of memories and making more!

It’s a door to part of one of the barns. There IS a silo on the farm but we weren’t near it. She had a great time.

Aw, Penny, congrats on your first BIG adventure — this looks like FUN! And not throwing up in the car will encourage your mama to take you on more adventures, too. I like your doggie seatbelt, and I’m very impressed you’ve learned to pose without your mama being on the other end of the leash. Monk still can’t do that (not that I’m brave enough to try, ha!)

Well, I didn’t show you the dozens of failed pictures….but she sticks close to me and doesn’t run around much, and I don’t let go of the leash much, so it’s been good. In our backyard I sometimes let her run off leash, but that’s scary too as we aren’t fenced in. She LOVES to run so whenever I can find a fenced in place where she’s free to do that I let her run!

Monk loves his fenced backyard — it’s the perfect place for him to let loose and ZOOM!!

She’s pretty patient for a 6 month old. But I rarely get a second shot, if the first one doesn’t work she’s up and moving on. We do love her though, she’s a very very good girl.

We do love our dogs, they become our friends and companions. If I could only be the person my dog thinks I am.

What beautiful photos Penny! You look amazing with the barn background. I’m glad you made it without getting carsick. I hope that means you’re over that for good.
I really like your photo with all the wheels. That farm looks so pristine!
