Hey guys, it’s me, Penny!

Mom says Karma has come up with a photo challenge, something about before and after.

Well. I told mom that I wanted to play too, but I couldn’t take any pictures, mostly because I don’t have thumbs. So I assigned her to get some great pictures of me in before and after situations.

I think you will soon agree I have this before and after thingy down pat. And that, for once, mom followed directions!

We had a big storm last week, then most of it melted and then we got 5 unexpected inches of snow yesterday!

By the weekend they say we’ll have sunshine and temperatures in the 40s! Wow, sunshine! All this beautiful snow will be gone again. Mom said we had to hurry today before it started to melt!

When we were walking out there today big poofs of snow kept falling off the tree branches and dropping on me! I was freaked out until mom told me to stop being a baby.

I guess I’m still a little girl, I’m only almost 14 months old. I got braver the longer we were out there. But I did giggle just a little when a big poof of snow fell on mom and cold water ran down her neck. Hee hee.
Anyway.
Mom took me to this same park earlier this week when there wasn’t much snow, and then today we went back so she could get more pictures with the beautiful snow!

Boy I had fun on both visits to the park. I loved sniffing along the way, and chewing on as many sticks as possible.

Mom keeps telling me I can’t chew on every stick in the woods…but I think I want to try!

So tell me, do you think I got the before and after thing right? Inquiring sheltie minds want to know!

Talk later,
Your photogenic pal, Penny.

I think you did well Penny. BTW, the snow dropping off the trees has startled me on more than one occasion.

hahahaha, Mr. Mike! I told mom not to be such a wimp. Course that was after I got used to the whole falling clumps of snow stuff.

Yes, Penny, you nailed the before and after photos! You’ll be walking there again soon once Spring arrives and you’ll look just as beautiful with the green colors and spring flowers. You didn’t happen to see the groundhog out there, did you?

That’s what mom says, Ms Shelley! We’ll go back when she doesn’t have to wear cleats to get her and me up and down those hills!

Thank you Ms. Dale! I think mom did pretty good on the photos too! Though I’m not that thrilled with sitting in the wet snow while she putzes around.

Well, when I get really frustrated I try not looking at her, or I just get up and jump on her. That’s especially effective when my feet are muddy.

I take it as a personal responsibility, Ms Carol, but sometimes it’s hard to get her off the sofa.

You certainly are photogenic, Penny. I thought for sure one of the “after” photos would be wet dog, but apparently you are too smart to go into water that cold, right? Sunny Juliet could take a couple tips from you, even if she is twice your age.

Well, if I’m honest, Ms Pamela, I’d have been a wet dog but mom kept that leash on me. I wanted to get a drink real bad and she said I was a silly girl and got me a drink out of her bag. Huh. I think pond water is better, but that second time the pond was all slushy ice! If I’d have gone through that ice I don’t know how mom would have gotten me home. We were quite a ways away from the car. I think mom would have freaked.

Nicely done, Penny! And your mom’s photos prove that Shelties are especially pretty in snow (and leaves!) But what is it with y’all and sticks? Monk never met a stick he didn’t want to nom either! Are y’all missing key nutrients in your food, or is it just a chewing fixation? Inquiring moms want to know!

I think for me, I just like to chew, chew, chew, Ms. Debbie! Mom sighs a lot. After these storms there are sticks all over our yard and I get distracted from what I’m supposed to be doing out in the yard when I see a stick. Mom says she needs to go out without me and clean up all the sticks, but there are a LOT of them and she’s not sure she can get rid of them all. I hope not!

Nice job Penny! I love your park both before and after! And I bet you and your mom can get some great shots for spring, summer and fall there too! 😉
I have a new niece-pup, she’s only 5 months old, I bet you could do a good job with showing her all the best sticks!

That’s what mom said, Ms Karma! She said that pond and those woods will make perfect spring and fall and summer images! And that means I get to go back more than once! I personally can’t wait for spring. Even though I love snow!

Excellent job Penny! A++++
What fun adventures. I love having just enough snow to make everything look pretty, but not so deep that you can’t take a walk in the woods. Perfection!

You’re so right, Ms. Sara. We had just the right amount for me to be able to drag mom up and down those hills. Plus it looked so pretty! I got lots of it on my nose while I was poking around. I can’t wait to go back, but all the snow has melted now. Mom says not to worry, we’ll get more!
