I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

So little for them to eat, they raid the feeders regularly.

Thanks. Just lucky he stayed there long enough for me to find my camera and sneak back to shoot out the back window.

He (or she) sure did! Went running back to the rest of the herd in the back of the yard right after this. I guess this one was the only one brave enough to get that close to the house and try for a snack. Hope he got something.

Love it! When I still lived in the southern part of the state, the deer ate out of my big tray bird feeder.

Our local herd is getting bigger, they will eat anything they can get to.

That so funny! I did a doubletake because I saw the fur and thought at first it was a squirrel, but with one big eye? I guess it is wary to eat as you are watching it, otherwise the feeder would be tipped to just the right angle to funnel birdseed right into its mouth!

He or she (probably a she) was only the width of the deck away from me. She definitely knew I was there.

That’s amazing – no fear at all as she he/she knows you are friend not foe.

I thought so too. Luckily my camera was within reach, because she didn’t stay there long after she spotted me.
