Well, I left you on the trails in the woods of Kensington quite a long time ago. You’ve likely forgotten I left you stranded there, what with the red winged interruption and then of course Penny’s Wordless Wednesday.
There’s a lot going on here in Penny’s house and I’ve been too busy to finish up my walk with you and my birds, so let me just say the last few birds I met along the trail were all turkeys.

Literally.

But here are a few of my favorite bird pictures from that walk. It all feels so long ago, but I hope they conjure up a beautiful day in the woods for all of you.
They do for me.

That’s it for me for awhile. When things settle down some I’m sure I’ll be back. Meanwhile, spend some time outside, finding your own special places and post. I just might find time to stop in for a pick-me-up!

I didn’t realize turkey feathers held so many colors! Love the little birdies here — nuthatch, titmouse, and chickadee. We get jays a lot … and they can be noisy! Hope things are okay in your world. Hugs, in case they aren’t … oh, what the heck, hugs anyway, friend to friend!!

I had a bunch of turkeys cross the road in front of me last week. Yes, where there’s one, there are others. I thought for sure, one of the ones that hadn’t yet crossed would fly up in front of the truck.

Same with deer. If you see one cross the road there’s probably another one coming.

Very handsome, in an odd, turkey sort of way.

Dawn, you had a great day which stretched into two posts … even better! I have not seen a turkey that close up and didn’t realize they were so colorful. The small birds are so cute and hopeful for treats and the Jay is ever watchful. I hope you get back again for photos to wow us some more.

I know what you mean – Council Point Park used to be my happy place and hopefully it can rise to that status again some day. I heard, but did not see, my first Red-winged Blackbird there on Monday.

We did not forget that you promised us more! 🙂 We hold you accountable.
Wow turkeys. There’s a turkey farm on Whidbey Island here in WA State where I grew up, and it’s still there a LOT of years later now. Guess I better go there and take a walk. Your photos are gorgeous, all of them.

Love them all! I saw a bluebird couple from my window yesterday. It was warm enough to sit outside with Chewy, in the sun, for a good hour. We kept an eye out for the red winged blackbirds, but they still haven’t arrived.
Take care. ❤️

I was able to sit outside with Pen on Monday. It got to 72. Now it’s back in the 30s with cold rain. Thunder last night. You just never know. Glad you had some peaceful time, very cool that you saw a bluebird! I still haven’t HEARD the red winged blackbirds…but they (the males) are here gobbling up the seed on my feeders.
