We packed up Christmas in our handy dandy new red and green tubs. No more digging through dusty boxes in the basement looking for stuff. All the tubs are labeled. I don’t believe I’ve ever been this organized!
But with the last tub put away I felt a slight twinge. A bit of sadness that happens every time I take Christmas down. I already miss the lights and festivities, the cards from family and friends, the visits, the music. I know, I know. It’s only been a couple weeks. But still.
Here are some last glimpses of Christmas past:
Pretty lights…

multi generational guests…

brilliant flowers…

and the fixings for fattening food!

Sigh. Just going to have to wait till next year I guess.

What a lovely post!!! Our outside lights will be there for a long time now. Everything is buried under the snow and it is way too cold to even think about removing them.
We got tubs for all of our things a few years ago, makes storing so much easier and no worry about things getting wet. And with the red and green it is easy to know which ones have Christmas items.
Happy Epiphany to you.

I love the blue lights on the tree! And mom loves the tubs – speaks to her OCD!

I love when the holidays are over. I feel like I can officially hibernate, with a good book!

Though the holidays may be over and the boxes packed, Christmas (Essexmas) is always in our hearts.

I think the holiday lights should stay up until March–at least in these northern climates where light and color are a bit scarce. Driving through the village of Suttons Bay yesterday, it looked so inviting with all of the twinkling colored lights and the snow–I hope they leave them up much longer! Our tree is still up. Of course, it was cut the week before Christmas, so it’s still fresh & pretty. And I don’t feel like taking it down!

I agree about leaving the outside lights on. Ours are still on the trees because it’s so cold out…but maybe I”ll turn them on tonight just for fun!
