Copying an entry from Marie’s blog Katie and I woke up to this:

After several days (well, maybe two) of sunshine and temps in the 30’s the snow was beginning to disappear, bits of grass along the driveway almost looked green, robins were flying around, other birds were singing in the tops of trees. We felt a bit of hope that maybe this winter was on the way out. We do this every year. We are foolish.
It began to snow last night sometime after midnight. Early this morning we have maybe an inch or two on the ground which isn’t that bad. But it’s supposed to snow all day. We might get as much as 8 inches. I hope not, though really these are just old time worn feelings in me, automatic responses honed over years and years and years of having to drive to work in this kind of weather. I remind myself that I don’t have a job and this kind of morning is why not having a job can be a good thing. I don’t have any reason to drive on this stuff if I don’t want to. And I don’t want to.
So with the light still dim Katie and I ventured out to do her thing. SHE always has a reason to go out no matter what the weather. And as I am attached to her at the other end of the leash, well, I have reason to go out too. I suppose.

Eventually Katie got tired of all this picture taking. After all, she had a serious job to do and I was getting in the way. So I put the camera away. Can’t risk the wrath of a sheltie-girl. No siree.

Oh dear, it does seem that we’ve sent the storm on to you. Sorry! I hope you don’t get nearly as much as we did. The first part of the storm we only got a couple inches and it was melted by the next day. The real brunt of it came in the next wave. That’s when we got our 7 inches. Now it’s really gotten cold again. I don’t think this is going to melt nearly as quickly. They are forecasting more storms mid to late this week too. I sure hope March brings warmer weather. I’m ready for it.

We’re supposed to get snow everyday the rest of the week. I guess we’re due, as we’ve had hardly any all winter.
I think the greyness wears people down more than the snow itself. We need color. Are there any garden shows coming up in your area? Tha always perks me up!

I know know of any garden shows…but I could go down to Ann Arbor and visit an arboretum…if I can get out of my subdivision! LOL! We have approximately 7 inches of snow now, and it’s still snowing, though not as heavily. Husband has cleared our driveway and the neighbor’s across the street. The neighbor is in his 70’s or 80’s and has heart issues. This is a very heavy wet snow, and we didn’t want the neighbor to even attempt to move it.
