I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

OK, now, see, right up at the top there is That Face. How can a person look at That Face and not be cheered up at least a little? And then there is the way the spruce tree smells. That’s pretty nice. Your snow looks packy. You could make a snow sculpture. Just a little one. You’d be surprised how absorbing that can be. You could take the snowshoes to a big field and walk a rude word into it. Then you could send a picture of it to one of those supermarket tabloids that’ll believe anything. And next week when I’m grousing about February as I always do, you can send me a picture of the snow sculpture or the rude word, whichever seems more appropriate . . . 😉

Katie, you need to do the emergency face lick manuever. That is almost guarenteed to cheer up hooomans. As for us, Dad has been watching Bogart movies.

I love those tracks in the snow! And really, I don’t want spring yet. Do you? Really? I need time to dream over seed catalogs by the fire without having to get out and spade compost into the garden quite yet. To everything there is a season, sufficient unto the day, etc., etc.

Instead of plenty of sunshine, we have three consecutive rainy days. It’s wet, grey and depressing too.
I think the one advantage of snow is it makes beautiful pictures : )
