You know how we’ve all been complaining about the s*** and how brutal this winter was? Well I agree, it was brutal…but tonight I was looking through some old pictures for another project and I came across these:
Which were taken April 6, 2009.
So I’m thinking that sometimes we just forget that winter is winter and probably one is like the other and maybe, since we’re not in the middle of a blizzard right now, we should just be happy.
So I am.

I think the older we get the more the weather seems to affect us – it FEELS so much colder, so much worse than the previous year – maybe our memories are just mixing together, becoming a blur and that is why it seems worse with each passing year

Those photos capture it perfectly. Blog-keeping is very useful. I can look back and remind myself that, oh yes, this too shall pass. It’s a great reality check.

You know, I think there’s almost nothing more beautiful than winter photographs. They looks so…still. Does that make sense?
It’s a good reminder that winter isn’t all bad. But I’m sure ready to kick it to the curb right now!

It is so easy to forget. I complained more loudly about this winter, I think, than I usually do. Yet, we had less snow this winter than we have had for a few years, but it did start earlier. And I had an audience.

Its true. It always makes me giggle when I hear a Chicago lifer say in January…”Guess its going to be a cold one this year!” I also think winter starts getting really hard in March because soon the expectation of warmth creeps in and its seldom warm until sometime after mother’s day.
Such pretty winter pictures…a good lesson that looks can be deceiving especially on April 6th.

I had totally forgotten that one!
I almost wish it were snowing rather than pouring rain right now…
